Welcome to Reception - September 2026

Reception class places have been allocated by Bradford Council.

Please remember to accept your place by April 30th.

We will then be in touch to invite you to a 'Welcome to Reception' meeting where we will inform you about the transition process.

Staff in Reception class have created their 'all about me' profiles to help your child to get to know them a little bit more about the adults who will be working in their class.

If your child is Catholic, please make sure you bring a copy of your child's baptism certificate to the office.

R.E

This half term our topic is: To the ends of the Earth

Children will be learning about what happens after the Resurrection. They will hear accounts of Jesus’ Ascension, the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and the early community that formed and is now called the Early Church. They will then go on to learn some things about modern Christianity, think about what happens in a church, and make simple links between Christian beliefs and showing care for others.

At home you could help your children by:

  • reading the story of the Ascension and Pentecost with them
  • when travelling about or on walks point out churches and ask ‘I wonder what happens in a church’.
